How much skydiving experience do I need to complete
a tandem HALO jump?
None. We’ll teach you everything you need to know to jump and land
safely.
Is this safe?
Skydiving is inherently risky. You could die. You will be required
to sign a release of liability. That said, the guy strapped to you throughout
your HALO tandem jump has no desire to die young. He’s an expert jumper
who will be using the best possible equipment and taking all steps humanly
possible to make your adventure as safe as it can be.
What physical requirements must I meet?
You must be in excellent health and weigh less than 225 lbs.
How long is the freefall?
You will exit the aircraft at approximately 30,000 feet (depending on
conditions) and experience up to two minutes of freefall.
Is
there anything else I should know?
Men should be clean-shaven so oxygen masks will fit snugly.
What kind of plane is used?
You'll jump from a DeHavilland DHC-3 "Super Otter".
Can you describe the program?
Plan to arrive at the jump zone in Lumberton/Hattiesburg by noon on
Saturday. You'll spend the entire afternoon getting fitted for equipment
and training with our expert HALO jump team. You’ll learn tandem skydiving
basics and practice pre-breathing techniques. (To safely jump from 30,000
feet and avoid experiencing the sort of “bends” you can get when scuba
diving, you’ll spend time on board the aircraft pre-breathing 100% oxygen.)
You'll need to be back at the drop zone by 6:30 am on Sunday so we recommend
you stay somewhere nearby. If all goes as scheduled, you'll be leaving
the drop zone with a smile on your face and your HALO jump certificate
in hand, by noon Sunday. Please keep in mind that bad jump weather can
change everything. It's extremely important that you have Monday as
a back-up day.
How many people have done this?
You can be among the first to experience this incredible adventure.
